England has been unlucky in front of goal-Pinto

Costa Rica coach Jorge Luis Pinto believes England have been unlucky in front of goal in this World Cup and says the Three Lions have a "team for the future" despite their early elimination at Brazil 2014.

England had hoped to be playing for a place in the last 16 in their final group game against the Central Americans in Belo Horizonte, but are already out of the competition after back-to-back defeats against Italy and Uruguay, while Costa Rica can seal top spot in Group D by avoiding defeat at the Estadio Mineirao.

"It will be a hard game - a difficult game," Pinto told reporters at the pre-match press conference on Monday. "England have a young team, a side for the future. I have seen all of the players and they play well. We need to play a more aggressive game because they will be out to restore some pride."

And he added: "They have a versatile team in attack, which is not the usual thing in English football. They have been unlucky in front of goal. They got into the area on many occasions against Italy and against Uruguay, but have been unlucky not to have scored more goals."

Pinto, who has also coached Colombia and worked in Venezuela, Peru and Brazil, believes Costa Rica will find it even more difficult from on because everyone has watched their games against Uruguay and Italy.

"They know us now," he said. "They have watched us play and will be more attentive. That makes it even more difficult, but we want to win the group. We will look move the ball around better and keep on improving.

"We have come a long way, but we want to go further."
