The French midfielder gave Manuel Pellegrini's side a victory in a drab match in Queensland while there was no debut for new £49 million signing Raheem Sterling
A late goal from Samir Nasri gave Manchester City a 1-0 win over sister club Melbourne City in a pre-season friendly on Saturday.
New signing Raheem Sterling was booed from some sections of the crowd despite playing no part in the match, which was a largely drab affair.
But a chest-down-and shot from his French team-mate in the 86th minute, firmly into the top corner, was enough for a relatively under-strength touring team to win on the day.
