The summer signing from Barcelona will make his debut against West Brom at the Hawthorns, while John Terry is picked to start alongside Kurt Zouma in the centre of defence
Jose Mourinho has handed Pedro his debut for Chelsea's game at West Brom on Sunday.
The Spaniard completed his move to the club earlier this week, joining from Barcelona for a fee of £21 million, despite interest from Manchester United, and he has been put straight into the action by the Portuguese.
The 28-year-old will join fellow attackers Willian and Eden Hazard in an attacking triumvirate that will support Diego Costa.
Elsewhere, John Terry is picked to start alongside Kurt Zouma in defence, despite being substituted at half-time during the Blues' 3-0 defeat to Manchester City last weekend, while Thibaut Courtois returns in goal after his suspension.
West Brom, meanwhile, have picked Salomon Rondon to make his full debut up front in place of Saido Berahino, with the reported Tottenham target absent from the squad, while Arsenal loanee Serge Gnabry makes the bench.
Chelsea starting XI: Courtois; Ivanovic, Zouma, Terry, Azpilicueta; Matic, Fabregas; Pedro, Willian, Hazard; Diego Costa. Subs: Begovic, Cahill, Mikel, Loftus-Cheek, Traore, Remy, Falcao.
West Brom starting XI: Myhill; Dawson, McAuley, Olsson, Brunt; McManaman, Morrison, Fletcher, Yacob, McClean; Rondon. Subs: Rose, Chester, Lescott, Gardner, Gnabry, Anichebe, Lambert.
