The Swansea City midfielder is recalled by manager Roy Hodgson, having earned one cap in 2012, while the Leicester City striker retains his place in the forward line

Swansea City midfielder Jonjo Shelvey and Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy have been rewarded for good early season form with call-ups to the England squad to face San Marino and Switzerland.

The former Liverpool star won his only Three Lions cap against San Marino in 2012 but has been recalled by manager Roy Hodgson following a string of impressive performances for the Welsh side, who defeated Manchester United on Sunday.

Vardy has scored two goals in four games thus far this season, and was previously selected in the squad for the friendly clash with the Republic of Ireland.

The Three Lions, who will be led by captain Wayne Rooney, can qualify for Euro 2016 with victories in both clashes.

John Stones is also selected amid links with Chelsea, while Manchester City duo Raheem Sterling and Fabian Delph make the squad.
