Sterling starts for Manchester City at West Brom

The £49 million summer signing from Liverpool starts City's first game of the Premier League season at The Hawthorns

Raheem Sterling makes his first Premier League start for Manchester City in their opening game of the new season at West Brom.

The £49 million summer signing from Liverpool starts alongside David Silva and Wilfried Bony in attack, with Sergio Aguero on the bench having returned to training late due to his participation at this summer's Copa America.

Saido Berahino, who is wanted by Tottenham before the close of the transfer window, has been handed a starting place in attack for West Brom alongside new signing Rickie Lambert.

West Brom have also handed debuts to James McClean and James Chester.

Jason Denayer could make his first-team debut for City this evening, while 18-year-old striker Kelechi Iheanacho will also make his first Premier League appearance if called upon from the bench.
