Guardiola future out of Bayern hand- Lahm

The defender says the squad want their coach to stay amid links with the likes of Manchester City and Chelsea, but acknowledges they will have little say in his decision

Philipp Lahm says the future of Bayern Munich boss Pep Guardiola is out of the squad's hands after reiterating his support for the Spaniard.

Guardiola's three-year contract expires at the end of the season, with the former Barcelona coach yet to agree terms on a new deal.
The 44-year-old has been linked with both Chelsea and Manchester City, but Lahm has urged him to extend his stay at the Allianz Arena.

The Bayern Munich captain said: "It's not a secret the team works well with him and follows him. Everything else is not in our hands."

Lahm was talking after Bayern recorded an impressive 3-1 win over Wolfsburg in the second round of the DFB Pokal.

The victory continues the club's fine start to the campaign, with Frankfurt next up in the Bundesliga as they bid to make it 11 wins from 11 league games.
"Of course it's not a normal thing to show a good performance every time. This is impressive. Every Bundesliga match is a new challange, our opponents doesnt't make it easy for us," he added.

"The nice thing is that we stay hungry. We have a lot of energy and concentration on the pitch, otherwise such a streak would not be possible."
